Day 2 · The Land Is the Lord’s
“The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine. For you are strangers and sojourners with me. And in all the country you possess, you shall allow a redemption of the land.”
Leviticus 25:23–24 (ESV)
Reflection
God reminded Israel that the land belongs to Him and is held in trust. For a nation where the land still carries deep wounds of dispossession, this is both a comfort and a charge: the soil is a gift to be stewarded justly, and redemption of the land was God’s idea first.
We pray
- For wisdom, courage and integrity for every lawmaker, judge and official working on land reform.
- Lord, heal the wounds of dispossession, and open a path to restitution that is just, lawful and free from violence.
- Father, let the land become a place of provision, food and dignity for all who live on it.
