I love today’s Scripture reading. It reminds me of something vital: context matters.
So often we hear the words “Do not fear” and move on, but if we don’t pause to consider who is speaking and what precedes those words, we miss the full weight of their power.
The Scripture says:
“This is what the Lord says—He who created you…”
Pause there. That changes everything. This isn’t just a general encouragement or a motivational quote. This is a divine declaration from the Lord—the One who is eternal, unchanging, and unlimited. He is not bound by time. He is not shaken by circumstance. He sees the end from the beginning. And He holds all power in His hands.
But even more intimately, this is the Lord who created you.
He knows why you are here.
He knows the abilities, dreams, and callings He placed inside you.
He knows the battles you would face and the strength He built into you to overcome them.
He knows how He has equipped and backed you—for such a time as this.
So when He says “Do not fear,” it’s not a suggestion—it’s a promise backed by divine authority, tender love, and infinite wisdom.
Lord, thank You that I am not walking alone. Thank You that for today—and for every day—I have heavenly backing. I will not fear today. I will not fear my fifties. I will not fear my future. Because the One who created me is the One who goes with me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
