Listening

Lord, I know I’ve grown in learning how to talk to You. I’ve become more comfortable sharing my heart, my fears, my hopes. But this morning, I sense a holy invitation to go deeper—to grow not just in speaking, but in listening.

So today, I come before You not with requests, but with quiet surrender. I don’t want to rush into asking for anything. I just want to know what’s on Your heart.

What are You saying to me this morning, Lord?

What is Your heart concerning this day?

How are You moving?

What is Your priority—for me, for this generation, for this nation, for the world in these times?

Holy Spirit, where are You leading today?

What is stirring in the heart of God?

I want to listen. I want to grow in hearing You clearly. I want to grow in partnership with You—moving in step with Your Spirit, not ahead of You and never behind. Your Word reminds me that there is a power at work in us, a divine strength made available by grace. There is a calling to do good works—works You prepared for us long before we ever drew breath. And there is the Holy Spirit—our Helper, our Advocate—interceding with groanings deeper than words.

So this morning, I offer myself to You.

Speak to me.

Speak through me.

Who needs to encounter Your love through my life today?

Whom would You have me encourage?

Where would You have me go?

Who should I walk alongside?

What is in Your heart for this generation, Lord?

What is in Your heart for South Africa?

What is in Your heart for the people I’m connected to?

I am listening. I am available.

Use me as Your mouthpiece.

Use me to bring comfort.

Use me to pour out generosity.

Use me as a vessel of Your will.

And as I sat here in the stillness, I heard a song rise up in my spirit—

“Look to the Lamb, see the Son of God, forever glorified.”

I feel the touch of the Holy Spirit, like a gentle wind.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being the Lamb who was slain.

Thank You for taking my place on the cross.

Thank You for clothing me in righteousness.

Thank You that I stand accepted—not because of my works, but because of Your finished work.

I am Yours.

Forever clothed in righteousness.

Forever called a child of God.

And this morning, that truth is enough.

More than enough.

Thank You for reminding me.

Amen.
