An Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Dear Lord,

As evening draws near, I find myself overcome by a sense of gratitude that wells up from the deepest parts of my soul. It is a gratitude built not upon tangible blessings, but the intangible gifts you’ve so generously bestowed upon me.

Thank you, Lord, for the peace that blankets me, a peace that goes beyond understanding. Thank you for the surge of productivity that stems not from my strength, but from yours in me. I recognize the beauty of genuine connections formed at work, and for this I give thanks.

Lord, I see the future not with dread, but with hopeful anticipation. You have kindled this hope in my heart and I hold onto this with confidence knowing it is anchored in you. I’m connected to your word, a connection that nourishes my spirit and refreshes my soul.

I can’t escape the profound realization of your genuine existence, your reality that is more tangible than anything I can touch. And I sense your kindness, a kindness that never fails to surprise me, a kindness that towers above any I’ve personally known.

Search my heart tonight, Lord, and see the genuine joy and peace that I’ve found; gifts that I often overlook due to their intangible nature. And yet they are there, bright and constant, and for these, I give you thanks.

I appreciate the simplicity of my single years, Lord. They weren’t years wasted in vain or self harm, but years spent honoring you, years of growth and self-discovery. Thank you for leading me along this path of holiness, even when I seemed an unlikely candidate for such a journey.

You placed me in nurturing churches with vibrant youth programs that were instrumental in cultivating a deeper relationship with you. I cannot help but be grateful for the love, support, and mentorship I received during these formative years.

So tonight, Lord, I find myself caught in an overflow of gratitude. I am grateful, Lord. To you, the Giver of every good and perfect gift, I say, thank you.

In Jesus Name Amen.
