Answering The Call

Dear Jesus,

Today I read in your word about two men you called to be your voice and to deliver a nation from captivity. What I find interesting is that you were able to use these men for your glory even though they did not feel qualified.

In reading these stories today my take was these men had the ability to hear your voice, and a yes attitude in-spite of the doubt within.

When you called Jeremiah he thought “not me Lord I’m still young”. When you called Gideon he thought “not me Lord I’m weak and I come from a weak family”.

Oh, I love how both were so transparent and vulnerable to you. Help me be like them Lord. As you already know when I feel unqualified I have a tendency to run and hide. May that not be the case going forward. May my strength be that I run to you with all my insecurities and doubts. Give me a heart like theirs Lord.

Lord, I also find it liberating that you did not call them because they were the strongest. But you called them because You are Who You say You are. Even though they doubted their abilities you chose them anyway. At their yes you used them. Give me a yes attitude to your call…

Today I am reminded l that your call over my life remains because You are faithful. Lord I see myself in these men! I pray for this season of my life and years to come that I will hear your voice when you call, bring my insecurities to you and have a series of Yes to you even when I’m scared and feel inadequate. No more hiding Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
