Received some items today that I’d ordered online some time ago and had been delayed. What amazed me was that even though they had been delayed I’d never doubted I’d receive them eventually.
Then a thought hit me… What if I engaged in prayer to Lord with the same kind faith I have when I order a product online?! Most times I order from people I’ve never met. (Yet the Lord I know, He has proven His love and ability over and over again.) Secondly, most times I buy a product I’ve never seen. (Yet I’ve seen The Lords work over my life over and over again).
Why do I have unmovable faith that a distribution company I’ve never met will bring it to me?! Do I really believe what I think I believe? I cried out, Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.
He answered me with more questions. He said, Do you believe them because of the promise the supplier has made as part of their value offering?! Why do you doubt when it comes to the Me? I am the Lord who made the heaven and the earth is there anything too hard for me?
He continued… Is it because you are not sure you are asking according to My will (ie promise)? And He said I’ve gone to great lengths in making my will known to you.
He wouldn’t let go of asking, Do you doubt because you do not believe I will make good on My promise?! Do you think online retailers are more faithful than Me?! And He continued, look around and count your blessings naming them one by one, you will rediscover how faithful I have been to you.
The questions kept coming, Do you doubt because you think you haven’t paid the price you think is required to receive? And He quickly interjected before I could answer and said: What if you truly believed that Someone has already paid that price on your behalf and His Name is Jesus?! Will that not change your attitude and help you engage with more faith when you come before the throne of grace to ask, seek, knock ?! Will you not have have a better experience in receiving, finding and having opened doors?!
What an invitation!!! He just reminded me….”He is more real and faithful than an online store”
Happy Saturday! Lord help me be constantly aware that you are more real than an online store. Show yourself to me. I am willing and ready to see you afresh in my life.
