“Bless our God, O peoples! Give him a thunderous welcome! Didn’t he set us on the road to life? Didn’t he keep us out of the ditch? He trained us first, passed us like silver through refining fires, Brought us into hardscrabble country, pushed us to our very limit, Road-tested us inside and out, took us to hell and back; Finally he brought us to this well-watered place.”
Psalm 66:8-12 MSG
Lord we bless your name. You are good. Your intentions concerning our lives are good and pure. Before we were formed in our mothers womb you knew us and you called us your own. Before we were, you predestined us for good works. You have a plan for our lives. A plan to give us a hope and a future.
Lord thank you that you are a wonderful father, you never give us blessings we are not ready for. Thank you Lord that in you there is no shadow of turning. Therefore we can trust that you will finish what you started in our lives.
Be it refining in the fire, thank you Lord we will not be burnt. Whether we go through the testing, thank you that you empower us with supernatural endurance and tenacity to keep on keeping on. As you train us for the life that lies ahead thank you that you will help our frail hearts to never give up.
Help us to trust your process. Help us to embrace your process. Fill us with joy in the process. Give us foresight as we go through the process. Thank you Lord that we will hold on to your promises until you bring us to your desired well watered place. Help us not focus on our Neighbour!
Help us not think the grass is greener next door. But like new born babies trust their mothers for provision, help us trust you for provision. As we trust the chair to hold our weight as we sit on it let our faith in you be as sure. Help us trust and never doubt you. You have never disappointed us. You’ve never failed us. Let that be our testimony through which we overcome. In Jesus Name Amen.
