Divine Intervention: Comfort in Times of Loss

A couple of years ago, my family was struck by a tragedy. We lost my young nephew who was just a one-year-old. The grief was overwhelming, especially since I was already mourning the loss of my dad and grandmother. I remember it was the weekend of the funeral, and all I could do was sleep. It seems that’s how I manage intense emotional situations – I disconnect and sleep for long stretches.

While asleep, I had a remarkable experience. I heard the sound of a divine, soothing song and a gentle tap on my shoulder that roused me from my slumber. When I woke up, I found myself alone in my room. I was filled with wonder, sensing the presence of something comforting and sacred. Almost at once, a warmth filled my body and I knew it was a divine intervention. I looked out the window just in time to see the hearse arriving with my nephew’s body. Yet, I felt a surge of fortitude that was not only inexplicable but also uplifting.

The song that I heard contained the lyrics, “We are standing on Holy Ground, for I know that there are Angels all around! Let us praise God Now for we are standing in His presence on Holy Ground”. It reminded me of the biblical story of Moses’ encounter with a burning bush. The place was sacred not because of its physical attributes, but because it had been graced by the presence of a Holy entity.

Recently, I’ve been grappling with health issues. Last night, during a church event, I found myself standing and praying for healing when I heard the same angelic song in my spirit. I could sense once again God’s comforting presence, singing over me. Even though my physical condition has not yet improved, I firmly believe that my time for healing has come, that it is a reality in my spirit even if it’s not quite visible to my human eyes. I hold on to faith and hope in Jesus’ name, Amen.
